Very dark, almost black flowers, 6-8 cm across, composed of 6-8 deep purple violet tepals with a turned-up tip and curly edges. Dark violet anthers lightened with a touch of greenish creamy pollen on light green filaments. It flowers profusely in June-July and continue until September although not so abundantly. It grows 2-2,5 m high and attaches itself to the support with leaf tendrils. Useful for growing on trellises, poles and other garden supports. It looks charming when growing through brushes and other climbers. Spectacular against a light background. Good for container growing.
