An interesting self-clinging climber. Young shoots and leaves are intensely purple. The leaves are composed of 3 leaflets, 5-10 cm long, dark green glossy on the upper side and green-purple on the underside. The leaves turn bright red in autumn. It attains the height of 3-5 m, growing 1-1,5 m annually. Since it freezes at temperatures around -20^oC, in Poland it should only be grown in sheltered places in the regions with a mild climate. Useful for growing up walls, trees, pylons and all kinds of supports.
