Robust climber of average growth rate, reaching 2-3 m height. Pretty, glossy leaves consist of 9-12 elliptic, light green, pointy and slightly serrated leaflets. Attractive flowers, trumpet-shaped and 10-12 cm long are light orange with yellow anthers. Free flowering from July till mid-September. Thrives in warm, sunny, sheltered sites, in moderately fertile and moderately moist soil. Climbs by aerial roots but in youth requires tying to supports.

The cultivar obtained by crossing Campsis grandiflora (Chinese Trumpet Vine) and Campsis radicans (American Trumpet Vine, Trumpet Creeper, Hummingbird Vine) in 19th century.
